trailer FOLLOW YOUR NOSE by Ruth Pieloor & Ujjwal Rai
I am an Australian of Dutch, English, and Irish heritage, born in Queensland, on Baneraba land, and the only daughter of published poet the late Janette Pieloor. I have lived, worked, studied, and travelled all over this wonderful country, including Tasmania, Northern Territory, regional NSW and Sydney. I am now proud to call Ngunnawal country (Canberra), home - where I live with my husband, teenage boys, cat, and doggy.

I am the founding member of ACT4Reel, which will be launched in 2024. Our mission is to showcase talent in the region. I have embraced a career shift into the medium of screen and film making, completing a Diploma in Screen and Media at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) in 2023. A published writer I am also working towards a tv series and study in screen development at Uni Canberra in 2024.

I'm an independent theatre-maker and multidisciplinary artist, passionate about developing and broadening my own skills, as well as inspiring and encouraging other local artists to support one another. I'm passionate about collaborating with other artists empowering them to create their best work, and this includes teaching and employing others to strengthen and diversify individual arts practices across our region.

When I'm not working, training, researching, teaching, preparing for 'the next big thing', or spending time with friends and loved ones, I hope to find myself connecting to country and the arts by gardening, being at the beach, bush walking, playing uke, singing, doing yoga, tucking into a good book, watching films, binging a series, or going out to experience live theatre.
